RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND EVICTION PREVENTION


 

NSO is now accepting calls for rental assistance on Mondays from 8:30am-11:30am!

 


Process for getting assistance:

Applicants must call in for a prescreening on Mondays from 8:30am-11:30am by phone ONLY. If applicants are eligible, appointments will be scheduled for the following week.

Calls left on the answering machine will not be returned.

Assistance is not guaranteed, eligibility and the amount of assistance will be determined at the time of the appointment.

Due to the high volume of calls and to make it fair for everyone, assistance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

At the time of the appointment, we will be able to determine if we can assist you! Please refer to the eligibility requirements below to see if you qualify for our program.


First Month’s Rent

This program is designed to help individuals transition to permanent housing. People living in shelters or other transitional conditions often struggle for first month’s rent on a home or apartment. We are unable to to pay deposits of any kind with this program.

Applicants must:

Be a resident of Oklahoma, Canadian or McClain Counties | Be homeless | Have income


Eviction Prevention

This program is designed for individuals already in permanent housing. We help those who have had an emergency and are unable to pay one month of their rent due to a financial crisis. Such inability often results when crisis such as layoffs, a death in the family, medical bills, or emergency car repairs occur. The Eviction Prevention program fills the gap by providing monetary assistance and includes financial education. This program only covers one month of rent and cannot cover any additional fees or fines.

Applicants must:

Be a resident of Oklahoma, Canadian or McClain Counties | Have income | Be renters with an eviction notice at the time of assistance


Mortgage Assistance

This program is designed for homeowners. We help those who have had an emergency and are unable to pay their mortgage due to a financial crisis. Such inability often results when crisis such as layoffs, a death in the family, medical bills or emergency car repairs occur. This program only pays towards principle and interest.

Applicants must:

Be a resident of Oklahoma, Canadian or McClain Counties | Have income | Have a mortgage payment due within five days
